Why yes, I am a commie-loving Red bastard. @ 10:05 am

Meme time again, following a bunch of flisters who've posted the first of these:

81% John Edwards
80% Bill Richardson
79% Chris Dodd
78% Hillary Clinton
77% Joe Biden
35% Rudy Giuliani
26% Ron Paul
23% John McCain
21% Mitt Romney
17% Mike Huckabee
14% Tom Tancredo
9% Fred Thompson

2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz

Can't imagine that this split would surprise anyone. It certainly doesn't surprise me that the crazy minor candidates who can say whatever they want since they'll never be elected anyway are my guys, although all I know about the first two can be summed up as: Kucinich's wife is HOT.

Anyway, that doesn't look so red so far (incidentally, is the US the only country where right wing is associate with red? How did that survive McCarthyism?), but rest assured, my evil socialist credentials have been assured by this other meme:

You are 0% Individualist

You don't have an individualist bone in your whole body. You're a collectivist through and through. You either think that others owe you a living, or, you believe that you hold the path to enlightenment -- either materially or spiritually -- and you're willing to impose it upon society as a whole, through force, at any cost. There's no hope for you whatsoever. You're completely irredeemable as a human being; that's assuming you've the effrontery to call yourself one.

Are You an Individualist?
Make a Quiz

Not really a surprising result either, and I have to say, I love the rabid insanity of the description. Of course I don't call myself a human being... I am God! God! Wait, no, that's what individualists think, because they believe they're entitled to crap at the expense of society.... ah well, I'll get back to my evil nanny state now. Shame on me.

I got pretty much the exact same results, only with Chris Dodd like 1% ahead of Obama and Kucinich being at 83 instead of your commie bastard 93%. This is what happens when I answer questions based on what I'd LOVE, as opposed to what I actually think is feasible at this point in time. This'd be more useful if it mentioned who could actually get things done, but it's interesting and fun! (Yay Obama!)

(Also, about the red: HA! Like the Republicans would let those Bolshevik scum take their colors away from them!)

Yeah, Obama is just so likeable. Clearly he wouldn't really be able to do anything in the Whitehouse, but I like to imagine that he'd be useful just by being there, as someone that the whole of the country (and the rest of the world) can actually not HATE. And not in the 'be bludgeoned to braindeath by my sexual charisma' Bill Clinton way.

But yes! I am a dirty commie bastard! I was sitting there with quite a few of those questions going 'why isn't there a decent left wing option here? None of these really count!'

All this pre-election (or pre-pre-election, since this is really only the minor spectacle which goes before the true main attraction, like the dancing poodles before the clowns or the executions by wild beast while the gladiators are limbering up) furor brings to mind two words: feudalism works. I think the events of the past few decades have proven conclusively that, bereft of a proper aristocracy to rule them with an iron fist, the American public will go out of its way to create an analogous hierarchical structure. Often from the most unlikely materials, rather like carving a Rhodian colossus out of Munster.

What we need is a good old fashioned peasant rebellion. It helps keep people honest. And guarantees top-shelf smocks for the serfs.

Hehehe... now I have this vision of Mike Huckabee as a giant metal statue bestriding a harbour somewhere... maybe in Rhode Island. Those guys are pretty freaking insane already, they could be convinced to do it.

I could riot for a top-shelf smock. Or even a bit of moldy bread (that stuff produces LSD!), actually. Come to think of it, rioting just seems plain fun, even without incentives. And probably more likely to be democratic than anything in the political system over here.

I was slightly insulted by MY response, and I was deemed 35% individualist! Sheesh.

Hehehehe.... yeah, that writer was rabid. I kinda want to see what it says for 100% now.

What do you know, I'm just like you.. only with 15% more individuality. (Same spiel about being irredeemable, though.) I find myself strangely offended, while still maintaining a healthy dose of apathy.
